Seeking God’s Will for the Navajo Nation…Taking Christianity Into the World
As we begin to ready ourselves for next year’s mission trip to serve the Navajo People in Pueblo Pintado, NM we are seeking to make our already excellent trip better. To “catch the wave” of the vision at http://www.hiscpa.com/blog/2009/07/30/casting-a-vision-navajo-family-missions-taking-christianity-into-the-world/ As we ready ourselves below are a few of the ideas going forward with the predominant goal of walking alongside those we serve, telling the good news of Jesus Christ and building disciples.
Service Opportunities/Positions/Needs
-What you did last year or what we all did as a group last year.
-Teleconferencing Women’s Weekly Bible Study Lessons with goal of building local disciples/leaders.
-Developing a local leader in PP for Student Life.
-Strategic Church Alliances. Finding Partner churches
-Locating Future Service Locations within the Navajo Nation.
-Inventory/Sales Administration.
-World Wide Internet Marketing through Craig’s List/Blog/Christian Post
Short-Term Thoughts/Immediate Changes
-Group of two to three “point” personnel to leave for PP one day early to buy all food stuffs.
-Group of two to three construction personnel to leave for PP one day early to scout out and assess construction projects and then to overbuy (by 20%) supplies for projects.
-Transportation leader to handle all vans, vehicles, and air travel. Frontier airlines has a credit card that earns air travel points.
-Only do construction projects where at least one local family member is involved in its work with the goal to team building and developing a local culture of “Paying it Forward.”
-Ensuring that all trips are self-funded (goal will be for trips to be revenue/expense neutral to each church) with each participant predominantly raising monies through support letters, while also seeking prayer support.
-”B” Team Construction Team for Smaller Projects
-Leader to handle and coordinate and store trip donations and supplies.
