Duluth CPA Supports Feeding the Homeless of Atlanta…Taking Christianity Into the World
On my own in the past I have gone to feed the homeless I have found that being able to give away a Bible and to share a few favorite verses to both be an icebreaker and to get God out in the forefront.
What do you think about having all participants bring along ten Bibles. What they don’t use they could leave there with Pastor 7 and the Bibles are readily available at dollars stores for only $1.
A great opportunity to share much with just a little.
Whether you feel that God has called you to help the homeless or to serve in other ways, both inside and outside your church, becoming the hands and feet of Jesus Christ is a road to joy and an opportunity to call to task His redeeming power. Missions and Service work changes others and perhaps just as important allows God to fill you completely. Knowing that we must decrease so that God might increase is the best first step to fulfilling your God given destiny.
Pastor 7 at 7 Bridges to recovery in Atlanta, GA is a great opportunity to get involved. You can visit their web-site to learn more about their program at http://www.7bridgestorecovery.org/home_page.html 7 Bridges to Recovery is a rescue team for JESUS CHRIST. The purpose of the ministry is to” rescue our brothers and sisters off the streets and help them break the binds of homelessness, alcohol, drugs, sexual addictions, prostitution, and abuse.” Sugarloaf United Methodist Church is sponsoring an event on Oct. 17th. To learn more you can contact MaryJane Bettis at maryjane@sugarloaf.org
There are lots of options, even too many to mention. Maybe God is leading you to develop your own ministry and to reach out to others telling the good news of Jesus Christ, bringing hope to hopeless, walking alongside others in tough times with the ultimate goal of furthering the Kingdom of God and building up even more disciples for the journey ahead. If you are not yet involved in a ministry today, I encourage you by week’s end to volunteer somewhere/anywhere. There while you have an open heart God can use you to speak light into others eyes and to see what your life’s calling might be.
