Alpharetta/Duluth CPA Reminds Atlanta Business Taxpayers Corporate Income Tax Returns are Due Today
Today, March 15, 2010 is the last day to file/have postmarked your corporate income tax return for C Corporations/Form 1120 and S Corporations/Form 1120S. This due date also relevant for LL’s (Limited Liability Companies) that have filed a Timely IRS Form 2553 and opted to be taxed as an S Corporation.
Taxpayers frequently fail to understand that an extension to file a return is not an extension of time to also pay the taxes due. The IRS has a rigid schedule for payment of all taxes and in some cases, there is no room for flexibility whatsoever. Taxpayers should accordingly take care to pay all of their taxes as they become due without regard to whether an extension to file has been filed/granted. Always keep in mind an extension to file is not an extension to pay. Stay Tuned for Tax News You Can Use!
