Is an S Election the Right Entity Choice for Your New Corporation?
Should You Convert Your S Corporation to an LLC for Tax Purposes?
Do you need a CPA as a Sounding Board for Important Business Decisions?
Numbers 27:15-17 Moses said to the LORD, “May the LORD, the God who gives breath to all living things, appoint someone over this community to go out and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the LORD’s people will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”
When selecting a CPA for your business be sure to hire the very best CPA you can find. An award winning one would be a good start for that will show a pattern of peak performance and excellence.
Always before hiring a CPA, check their references. Know, don’t guess, what their clients have to say.
Also looking to hire a CPA who is well versed in many Business Management areas will do much to ensure that all areas of your company are being well-managed and not just your taxes.
Have a CPA who can also serve as a part-time/virtual CFO/controller is your best option to ensure the profitability and survivability of your company.
The below is a sample letter we might send to a client to assist with their new business start-up.
Be sure that you work with a CPA who is not only technically proficient in tax law but is also a good communicator.
I look forward to working with you. ASAP after you get the completed paperwork please get to me copies of all of your incorporation papers, your past personal return filed, where IRS assigned your EIN and where they accepted your S Corporation status.
For all of your payroll needs I suggest you use a payroll service. I would suggest waiting to contact them until you have achieved profitability.
After I get all of the above I will also register you for State withholding, sales tax and unemployment numbers.
You are automatically registered for Federal Unemployment when you received your EIN.
Please be reminded even if you have no payroll for a reporting period that both the IRS and GA will expect you to file the payroll reports on a timely basis so be sure to file these showing no payroll, while being sure to keep a copy of the report for your files.
