When you get the power of attorney go ahead and mail back to me a check payable to the IRS for $ 2,500 to pay the tax and interest in full so that I can ask the IRS to consider penalty abatement. Please begin putting together an affidavit for my review as to establishing with the IRS reasonable cause for the penalty abatement. Please let me know what state the $35K of income should be allocated to as you filed both in GA and AL that year. As such we will need to do an amended return for those states as well and to allocate the income accordingly.
