So sometimes it’s just a simple question…would you, could you, do you have…. and 9 times out of 10 you will hear “we would be honored to help”. Just by asking, you give others the opportunity to go on a mission trip without ever leaving the comfort of their own home but feeling good about themselves because they were able to help someone. So if you don’t want to ask for donations for yourself, think of the good you are doing for others….you are making them feel good for doing good! Just wanted to share what some are doing:
“I wanted to let you know that one of my sewing vendors donated 25 pair of Fiskar scissors, 10 packets of hand sewing needles, 2 packs of straight pins and about 15 large spools of thread. I also have 5 more pair of scissors coming as well as several personal care packages. Another of my vendors donated a lot of fabric. I asked for donations from one of my associations that I am a member of and everyone is to bring everything they want to donate to our meeting on Thursday, so I am not quite sure what I will get, but I will let you know Thursday. I gave them the list of all the materials that Robin and I will need for our crafts for the seniors. ”
I also have had two financial donations – one for $500.00 and one for a $1,000.00.
As you know, Angela sent out an email about a consignment sale and Robin sent one out about a car wash…we are now considering joining the two…so have you offered to help? We could REALLY, REALLY use all the help we can get!!!!! Please let me know what area you would like to volunteer for.
