Christian Author’s Four Books Are NOW Available

John Dillard – Author…A Message from John Dillard CPA

After publishing Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s, I was honored to be nominated for the Georgia Author of the Year Award for 2009 by the Georgia Writer’s Association. The publication of A Voice of One earned me the honor of being nominated for Georgia Author of the year for 2010.

Over the years I felt a tugging on my heart to write. For a great while I did not know what my subject was to be about but eventually, the Holy Spirit revealed what he wanted for my life and for me. My first book was a Christian Fiction/Romance/Murder Mystery titled Charleston Dawn and is about romance the way God intended. After I wrote my first book, I felt God prompting me to write Low Country Calling which is an action packed thrill a minute ride as an F-18 Super Hornet fighter pilot bravely faces near disaster over the air and on the desert floor in Iraq. After his narrow escape from death, our pilot is eventually called to be a pastor in the Low Country of Charleston, South Carolina.

One of the talents God alone has blessed me with is one of exhortation. Over the last thirty years of my life, my focus has been predominantly on the New Testament. As I have grown both in my walk and my study of the Bible, I have discovered the richness, body and compassion of the Old Testament. No longer do I see an angry God but how much he loves each and every one of us deeply and whose undeniable commitment to his people is frequently missed amidst many of the Old Testaments tribulations. Thus, I set out to write the Inspiration Series!

After several months of prayer to discover what it is God would have me write, I opened my Bible to the first page of the book of Nehemiah in the Old Testament. There I discovered fresh revelations of which I had never before heard or seen. Discovering God’s grace and compassion, I studied and as God divinely guided my hand, I wrote A Voice of One and how Nehemiah, a layman, steps out to accomplish great things in God’s name. I had my own “Nehemiah type” experience as I was led to change Georgia law requiring restitution for medical and counseling care to be paid by the guilty party to the victims of felony crimes.

Soon afterward, I wrote Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s as God revealed his truth to my heart and mind. Learning new truths from scripture, I discovered God’s hand both in my life and that of others. Studying in the Old Testament the book of Job, we come face to face as we learn God will never forsake us or give us more than we can bear. I also wrote Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s as a result of two prolonged illnesses that included four major surgeries, cancer, diverticulitis, and six weeks of hospital stay.

Though God’s word can never be summed up in any less than the Bible, which is God’s ultimate love story to his people, A Voice of One & Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s are a manual Believers will be able to review again and again each time gaining fresh insight to their walk. In my own life I have learned through careful study and analysis that we all need a spiritual road-map to guide us along life’s way. Through this study and effort, I have learned much of what I feel led to pass along to others as they seek God’s will for their lives.

I believe that God has specifically called me to this place and time and to share His word and love with all that I encounter. I have learned that through diligence, perseverance, and faith that we indeed can do great things in His name. Our task is simply to be obedient and to perform the tasks He set out before us while leaving all the results and all the glory to Christ. John strives to live by his pastor’s words, “We should all dare to accomplish something so great that it is doomed to failure lest Christ be in it!”

No one, no not one of us is given a spirit to timidity, we are to go out and to live our lives as Jesus would boldly stepping out in faith to lead others in love to a closer relationship with Christ. John’s favorite Apostle was Paul who suffered gladly claiming the name of Christ for all of his doings while taking no personal credit all the while fervently spreading the Good News of the Gospel. Paul counted it great joy in all his sufferings and in his weakness he found the perfect strength of our Savior. Paul indeed counted it great gain to die, as he knew that he would join Christ in the heavens and would live with Him forever!

John’s favorite Bible verses are used in his writing and are some of the many of God’s promises that he clings in his own walk with Christ. This effort has been one of love, one to share who God is and can be in your life while telling you of how much God loves you and wants you to accept his calling. God wants to be the true center of your life. All you have to do is believe and to have faith. Reach out for Him in all that you do and Christ will find you in a deep and meaningful way!

What we have learned is that in actionable steps for attendees to take with them to answer the question they all have ofwhat’s next? so those attending will have usefully information they can take along with them always. The first two books that John Dillard CPA Authored have been nominated for the 2009 & 2010 GAYA (Georgia Author of the Year Award).

The series is as follows: The Inspiration Series

John Dillard’s The Inspiration Series is for those looking to become more like Christ. By studying the Bible and applying it to our lives we are able to live the full life that God always intended. Come along as The Inspiration Series leads you to a deeper understanding of God’s precepts for your life and how to live a life full of Him!

Come alongside man’s odyssey to fulfill God’s best for his life. An all-knowing God has placed before you a unique opportunity to accomplish something of lasting value. Perhaps in the life of only one or of many you can perform great and miraculous achievements to reach others in the name of God. Whether serving in your family, your work, or globally, God has a task for you.

By faith as small as that of a mustard seed, you can step out of the relative safety of your present position, and watch God guide and measure your steps. Dare to dream, dare to achieve, and most of all dare to accomplish something so great that it is doomed to failure lest Christ be in it!

Part 1: Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s/Job’s Journey is the first of the series and A Voice of One is also fully completed.

Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s/Job’s Journey

The walk of a believer is often fraught with trials and tribulations leading to both defeat and victory. Life’s tragedies, your personal 9/11’s come into our lives seemingly in waves as we face obstacles, which both challenge our confidence and test our faith. Time stood still as the towers fell on that fateful day on September 11, 2001 and lives all over the world were changed forever and the world as we knew it would never be the same.  It is only by the power of an almighty God that we are to persevere.

As tragedy befalls our life, God shares his wisdom with us so we might overcome the world. By leaning on him in the darkness that befalls us, we are able to rise above circumstances that otherwise might cripple our lives. There will be times when you will feel abandoned by all those about you who choose to criticize rather than support and encourage you. We all need a “safe place to fall,” a family member or a brother or sister in Christ who will comfort us in our time of need. Come along one man’s journey as he loses it all becoming both mentally and physically challenged at every turn discovering God never leaves his side and indeed believes in him even during his darkest times. God has a unique calling on our lives and it is through Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s/Job’s Journey we are able to become more like him.

Approximately two thousand years before the birth of Jesus Christ there lived an ordinary man who, despite challenges that face him, continues to believe in God. Despite ravenous trials, which arrive in quick succession, Job never deters in his faith choosing to believe God would ultimately redeem him. Living in the land of Uz near the desert land between Damascus and the Euphrates River just northeast of Palestine, Job lives his life in pursuit of God while doing His work and bidding. Our lives need to be built on the rock of our faith in Jesus Christ, as it is our belief in Him, which will enable us to withstand life’s trials. Whether our trials are of our own doing or that of others we can discern how to see God’s hand in every event. Though we may not always know why bad things happen we can always find a triune God standing in the gap along with us. The Bible teaches we are to build our life on Him who was the cornerstone and became the capstone and it is in our reliance on Him alone we are able to pass life’s tests.

Come alongside as we see how one man despite all odds and all those who would turn against him stays true to his faith. Job’s story is one of a man who loses it all, his family, his wealth, and the support of his wife and friends. Yet Job stays true to his faith and to a God who not only restores him, but also gives him much more than he originally lost. Learn how to lean into the pain by seeking God’s will to overcome all that comes your way. God does not promise that our life will be easy but he does say that with him our yoke will be light. Read along as one man, Job, stands, despite the heat of tribulations clinging to his faith when all those he thought he could count on desert him. This story will inspire and motivate you to grow in your relationship with God by leaning on him during life’s fiery trials.

Part 2: A Voice of One

You alone are uniquely positioned to achieve God’s vision for your life. A God who knows the number of the very hairs on your head has a great purpose only you can accomplish. Learn how one man, Nehemiah, made a difference in the lives of many. Seeking God’s will each and every step of the way, Nehemiah prayerfully seeks to rebuild the walls, which protect the city of Jerusalem and her people.

Nestled deep in the Bible’s Old Testament lived an ordinary man who steps out to accomplish great things in God’s name. Leaving the safety of his position as the cupbearer to the king of Babylon, Nehemiah puts himself into harm’s way exposing himself to enemies who scheme and purpose to see him fail. Overcoming each and every obstacle, Nehemiah’s destiny is to rebuild Jerusalem’s city’s walls that were essential for the nation’s very survival.

The remnant of Israel had been in exile and was beginning to return to the Promised Land only to find the land of their forefathers in disarray. Jerusalem’s city walls lay in ruin exposing her to enemies who would threaten the nation’s very existence. Following the burden God lays on his heart Nehemiah rebuilt the city’s walls in just fifty-two days. Leading the way, Nehemiah asks for assistance from those who can help him the most and prayerfully develops a team unifying them to accomplish a miraculous feat.

Prayerfully, Nehemiah sets out and quietly brings together the whole of the Jewish nation. Finding doomsayers at every turn, Nehemiah overcomes each and every obstacle and builds, brick by brick, the ramparts that will protect the city from her foes. Never deterred in his vision, Nehemiah continues developing a coalition uniting a people giving them leadership and a clear vision and ultimately rededicating the city and its people to God.

Nehemiah never falters and never sways from his mission. God has a special plan for your life and a reward at its end. We serve a God who wants only the best for you and your life. Ask and act boldly to serve and to do great things in God’s name!
Part 3: Taking Christianity Into the World

In the spring of 2004, Atlanta accountant John Dillard established a different kind of CPA firm; one that would bring the principles of Jesus Christ to the practice of Accounting. Since that time, his practice has been growing, as clients who are seeking a Christian accountant who believes in Christ’s principles take advantage of HIS CPA for their business accounting, personal financial planning, and tax preparation needs.

“Having managed my own successful CPA practice in Gwinnett County for over fifteen years, I continued to feel God’s calling on my heart and his desire for me to be more about Him. I had always felt it was my mission to witness to those I came in contact with in both my business and social contacts, but God continued to lay it on my heart that He wanted much more. Although I was willing to share my Christian faith with people to whom I came in contact with, God was calling and he wanted me to be much move overt, but loving, to share the love of God. Having practiced the Golden Rule in my CPA firm for years, God was calling to be the true center of my life and not just a major player.

With my new bride that I had met only a few years ago, we set out on a journey that has led us on mission trips, publishing books, changing Georgia law, and starting a new accounting firm, HIS CPA, P.C. Although we wanted to start the company at the beginning of the year God made it necessary to start the firm immediately as He wanted it done then and not later. To this end we have been faithful and continue to spread the Good News of our faith and Christianity to anyone who would like to hear. Our faith and our lives intersect. Though we still have much to learn to grow to be like Him, we have studied his word and continue to work in Bible studies to share his love with others. My CPA firm is committed to the One who made me and we act on this daily by “Serving HIM by serving You…one tax return at a time”.

Duluth GA/Gwinnett/Alpharetta CPA Encourages You to Let Your Love Light Shine

Taking Christianity Into the World

I recently received the below sample inquiry off of my web site:

I have recently become a CPA in Atlanta.  I am currently working in a corporate accounting environment for a large company. I desire to honor Christ in my relationships, and build meaningful relationships for his glory.  I am sensing that I may have more opportunity to interact with people on a meaningful level as a CPA (offering tax planning, tax service, etc.).  It seems to me that this could be more effective to reach people than remaining in my current environment.

This idea is very much in the planning stage currently.  I have reached out to a CPA who runs a firm in the eastern part of Atlanta who has honored the Lord in his business.  He gave me some helpful input based on his experience. Can you recommend any resources that expand on the idea of using a business (or even more specifically, an accounting environment) to reach out into the community for the glory of God?  Or, can you tell me a bit about your story?  And how would I go about even beginning a venture like this? For His name!

Below is my response:

A Voice of One: Nehemiah’s Prayer is what God has to say about leadership. Humble servant-hood, an open heart, a willing body, an over-comer are all tenants of a someone to whom God can and will do great things through. Atlanta/Gwinnett/Duluth CPA Provides Top 10 Reasons to Read John Dillard (A Christian CPA)  Latest Book: A Voice of One: Nehemiah’s Prayer

For the Second Year in a Row John Dillard’s Books Have been nominated for the GAYA (Georgia Author of the Year) Award.

Top Ten Reasons to Read John Dillard’s Latest Christian Book

1. Emulation: Becoming Like Christ.

2. Become an Overachiever. Learning new truths from scripture, I discovered God’s hand both in my life and that of others. Studying in the Old Testament the book of Nehemiah, we come face to face as we learn God will never forsake us or give us more than we can bear. God calls us to do be all that we can be, by placing our faith and total reliance solely on Him. Nehemiah transcended the odds and overachieved when all around him wished and fought for his failure.

3. Boldness in Christ.

4. Fulfilling Your God Given Destiny. Imagine what would happen if all Believers lived their lives unafraid and willing to do God’s bidding when prompted. Freed from the chains that bound them, we would be free to do the bidding of Jesus Christ. Nehemiah’s story is about how one man, a layman, listened to God and did what all thought impossible. Nehemiah, sought the favor of a king, who provided the needed resources he needed to accomplish his task of rebuilding Jerusalem’s broken down walls in just 52 days, A Voice of One: Nehemiah’s Prayer will lead you and your Christian walk guiding you to higher heights still. This is a must read for Believers who are seeking to fulfill their God given destiny and want to live in accordance with God’s will.

5. Living Without Fear. It is only when we put aside our fear that we can be most like Christ and to answer the calling on our life.

6. Accomplishing Great Things for the Kingdom of God.

7. Discovering Mission Opportunities. There many instances where Nehemiah’s experience would parallel times in our own lives. His persistence and continued reliance on God is exactly what so many people need when faced with a crisis or major difficulty. We often turn from him when the answer isn’t immediately provided. A Voice of One lets  the reader know that one person, when humbly reliant upon God, can make quite a difference. A great guide when ministering to others!

8. Faithful Christian Life. A Voice of One calling: ‘In the desert prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God’” Isaiah 40:3  In my own life I have learned through careful study and analysis that we all need a spiritual road-map to guide us along life’s way. Through this study and effort, I have learned much of what I feel led to pass along to others as they seek God’s will for their lives.

9. Atlanta Christian Leadership. Leadership 101. There are many who will buy secular book after another seeking to learn how the world sees Leadership. A Voice of One: Nehemiah’s Prayer is what God has to say about leadership. Humble servant-hood, an open heart, a willing body, an over-comer are all tenants of a someone to whom God can and will do great things through. Unlock the truth of the Bible, putting them to work in your life seeking to be all that God would have you be, while learning how to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

10. Bible Study Notes. Though God’s word can never be summed up in any less than the Bible, which is God’s ultimate love story to his people, Seven Habits of Highly Effective Believers is a manual Believers will be able to review again and again each time gaining fresh insight to their walk. In my own life I have learned through careful study and analysis that we all need a spiritual road-map to guide us along life’s way. The Inspiration Series

We are all faced with obstacles, disappointments and failures in our lives and we are continually seeking ways to overcome life’s challenges.  We get mired in the day-to-day and forget that through God, all things are possible, by the knowledge and faith in God’s word. As you read along you will see how to persevere through untold tragedies, how to accomplish great things in God’s name and how to live your life the way God always intended. The Inspiration Series will show how, through prayer and being “still”, to discern God’s immutable will for their lives. Sharing the stories of how ordinary people like you and me can do great things through God’s providence, guiding us to see how God is divinely in control of our lives and that God’s discipline is the tool God uses as an act of love, making us more like him.  All books in The Inspiration Series are to be used to develop Bible study handbooks, speaking engagements and a series for children as well.

The Inspiration Series is for those who are just stepping out in their faith to those who have been seeking God’s will all their lives.  It will touch those who are lost, frustrated, who feel insignificant and show them that God has a purpose for them and needs each and every one of us to fulfill his perfect will.  It is for readers who are looking to deepen their relationship with Christ and further seek to overcome life’s challenges God’s way.  It will help all readers to learn how to discern God’s will and do his calling and not that of their own.

At present, there is not a book that is in direct competition with The Inspiration Series as we strive to better see God’s will, defining moments, and His destiny for our lives. You will be able to look to these works as a guide and prayer bringing fresh revelations predominantly by the study of the Old Testament discovering the love and grace of our God rather than his condemnation. Come along as you discover a God who is your Abba Father who will never forsake or desert you. As you read you will gain confidence with easy to follow applications and actionable guidelines to help you accomplish the best for your life.

In life as we grow in both knowledge and wisdom we are able to witness people in both the best and worst of times. I have seen many friends and associates soar well beyond what they had originally seen as limiting factors. I enjoy and relish being able to make a difference in the lives of others.

Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s is the first of the series and A Voice of One follows.

Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s

God’s Way of Overcoming Obstacles in Your Life
The First Volume of John Dillard’s Inspiration Series

God has a unique calling on our lives and it is through Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s we are able to become more like him.

“Build up, build up, prepare the road! Remove the obstacles out of the way of my people.”
Isaiah 57:14

A Voice of One

Accomplishing God’s Special Mission for Your Life
The Second Volume of John Dillard’s Inspiration Series

A Voice of One calling: ‘In the desert prepare the way for the LORD;

Determining to be a Follower of God…Taking Christianity Into the World

If we are indeed a follower of God then we will look to honor his last words before He/Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven. Go tell the world about me. Jesus did not ask us to think about it. He did not say maybe we should do it one day. He did not suggest that it was only for the pastor, deacons or elders but it was for all Believers to tell other the Good News of Salvation. As such we are all ordained for a mission, set aside for a special purpose and intended to do great things in God’s name. In fact, like Nehemiah in the Old Testament we are all Lay Ministers to who God has a divine mission for us to accomplish. Be it globally or locally, God wants to do great things through you: the church. Gods people the church consists of many attributes:

-The church is the entire community of those who believe whether you be Baptist, Episcopal, Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist or non-denominational.

-The church is the Body of Christ, whether old or young, affluent or poor. All of us who Believe have an essential and critical role in both supporting other Believers and leading those who do not know the Word to gain wisdom and faith of Jesus Christ.

-The church is not reserved for the clergy or the church staff but all who believe and profess His saving grace.

-The church consists of many who co-labor to do the work of Jesus, working together for a common cause, seeking God’s will, power and blessing.

-A church is a growing active dynamic presence and is not passive or indifferent. In fact the original sin of Adam could have been avoided if only his faith had been appropriately concerned and vibrant.

God intends us all people of faith to do great things in God’s name. In fact, we are all Lay Ministers who are to Dare to Attempt Something so Great for the Kingdom of God that it is doomed to failure, lest Christ be in it!
