Atlanta CPA Firm Owner John Dillard CPA Has been Nominated for the Second Year in a Row for the GAYA (Georgia Author of the Year Award)

The Inspiration Series

We are all faced with obstacles, disappointments and failures in our lives and we are continually seeking ways to overcome life’s challenges.  We get mired in the day-to-day and forget that through God, all things are possible, by the knowledge and faith in God’s word. As you read along you will see how to persevere through untold tragedies, how to accomplish great things in God’s name and how to live your life the way God always intended. The Inspiration Series will show how, through prayer and being “still”, to discern God’s immutable will for their lives. Sharing the stories of how ordinary people like you and me can do great things through God’s providence, guiding us to see how God is divinely in control of our lives and that God’s discipline is the tool God uses as an act of love, making us more like him.  All books in The Inspiration Series are to be used to develop Bible study handbooks, speaking engagements and a series for children as well.

The Inspiration Series is for those who are just stepping out in their faith to those who have been seeking God’s will all their lives.  It will touch those who are lost, frustrated, who feel insignificant and show them that God has a purpose for them and needs each and every one of us to fulfill his perfect will.  It is for readers who are looking to deepen their relationship with Christ and further seek to overcome life’s challenges God’s way.  It will help all readers to learn how to discern God’s will and do his calling and not that of their own.

At present, there is not a book that is in direct competition with The Inspiration Series as we strive to better see God’s will, defining moments, and His destiny for our lives. You will be able to look to these works as a guide and prayer bringing fresh revelations predominantly by the study of the Old Testament discovering the love and grace of our God rather than his condemnation. Come along as you discover a God who is your Abba Father who will never forsake or desert you. As you read you will gain confidence with easy to follow applications and actionable guidelines to help you accomplish the best for your life.

In life as we grow in both knowledge and wisdom we are able to witness people in both the best and worst of times. I have seen many friends and associates soar well beyond what they had originally seen as limiting factors. I enjoy and relish being able to make a difference in the lives of others.

Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s is the first of the series and A Voice of One follows.

Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s

God’s Way of Overcoming Obstacles in Your Life
The First Volume of John Dillard’s Inspiration Series

The walk of a believer is often fraught with trials and tribulations leading to both defeat and victory. Life’s tragedies, your personal 9/11’s come into our lives seemingly in waves as we face obstacles, which both challenge our confidence and test our faith. Time stood still as the towers fell on that fateful day on September 11, 2001 and lives all over the world were changed forever and the world as we knew it would never be the same.  It is only by the power of an almighty God that we are to persevere.

As tragedy befalls our life, God shares his wisdom with us so we might overcome the world. By leaning on him in the darkness that befalls us, we are able to rise above circumstances that otherwise might cripple our lives. There will be times when you will feel abandoned by all those about you who choose to criticize rather than support and encourage you. We all need a “safe place to fall,” a family member or a brother or sister in Christ who will comfort us in our time of need. Come along one man’s journey as he loses it all becoming both mentally and physically challenged at every turn discovering God never leaves his side and indeed believes in him even during his darkest times. God has a unique calling on our lives and it is through Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s we are able to become more like him.

“Build up, build up, prepare the road! Remove the obstacles out of the way of my people.”
Isaiah 57:14

A Voice of One

Accomplishing God’s Special Mission for Your Life
The Second Volume of John Dillard’s Inspiration Series

You alone are uniquely positioned to achieve God’s vision for your life. A God who knows the number of the very hairs on your head has a great purpose only you can accomplish. Learn how one man, Nehemiah, made a difference in the lives of many. Seeking God’s will each and every step of the way, Nehemiah prayerfully seeks to rebuild the walls, which protect the city of Jerusalem and her people.

Nestled deep in the Bible’s Old Testament lived an ordinary man who steps out to accomplish great things in God’s name. Leaving the safety of his position as the cupbearer to the king of Babylon, Nehemiah puts himself into harm’s way exposing himself to enemies who scheme and purpose to see him fail. Overcoming each and every obstacle, Nehemiah’s destiny is to rebuild Jerusalem’s city’s walls that were essential for the nation’s very survival.

The remnant of Israel had been in exile and was beginning to return to the Promised Land only to find the land of their forefathers in disarray. Jerusalem’s city walls lay in ruin exposing her to enemies who would threaten the nation’s very existence. Following the burden God lays on his heart Nehemiah rebuilt the city’s walls in just fifty-two days. Leading the way, Nehemiah asks for assistance from those who can help him the most and prayerfully develops a team unifying them to accomplish a miraculous feat.

Prayerfully, Nehemiah sets out and quietly brings together the whole of the Jewish nation. Finding doomsayers at every turn, Nehemiah overcomes each and every obstacle and builds, brick by brick, the ramparts that will protect the city from her foes. Never deterred in his vision, Nehemiah continues developing a coalition uniting a people giving them leadership and a clear vision and ultimately rededicating the city and its people to God.

Nehemiah never falters and never sways from his mission. God has a special plan for your life and a reward at its end. We serve a God who wants only the best for you and your life. Ask and act boldly to serve and to do great things in God’s name!

A Voice of One calling: ‘In the desert prepare the way for the LORD;
make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God’”
(Isaiah 40:3)

Determining to be a Follower of God…Taking Christianity Into the World

If we are indeed a follower of God then we will look to honor his last words before He/Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven. Go tell the world about me. Jesus did not ask us to think about it. He did not say maybe we should do it one day. He did not suggest that it was only for the pastor, deacons or elders but it was for all Believers to tell other the Good News of Salvation. As such we are all ordained for a mission, set aside for a special purpose and intended to do great things in God’s name. In fact, like Nehemiah in the Old Testament we are all Lay Ministers to who God has a divine mission for us to accomplish. Be it globally or locally, God wants to do great things through you: the church. Gods people the church consists of many attributes:

-The church is the entire community of those who believe whether you be Baptist, Episcopal, Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist or non-denominational.

-The church is the Body of Christ, whether old or young, affluent or poor. All of us who Believe have an essential and critical role in both supporting other Believers and leading those who do not know the Word to gain wisdom and faith of Jesus Christ.

-The church is not reserved for the clergy or the church staff but all who believe and profess His saving grace.

-The church consists of many who co-labor to do the work of Jesus, working together for a common cause, seeking God’s will, power and blessing.

-A church is a growing active dynamic presence and is not passive or indifferent. In fact the original sin of Adam could have been avoided if only his faith had been appropriately concerned and vibrant.

God intends us all people of faith to do great things in God’s name. In fact, we are all Lay Ministers who are to Dare to Attempt Something so Great for the Kingdom of God that it is doomed to failure, lest Christ be in it!

True Christian Friendship…Taking Christianity Into the World

True Christian Friendship…Taking Christianity Into the World

Friendship 101

Christian Friendship was modeled by Jesus Christ himself when he walked the world. He illustrated by his example of what true friendship is all about. As Believers we are not be led astray to see friendship as the world does but as presented in the Bible as God’s word. Attributes of a true friendship is:

-Not demanding. True friendship seeks first to understand others and to see the world through others eyes. Being a fried to others does not mean you accept or endorse what others are doing, if they are wrong, but it seeks to learn the opinions and beliefs of others, while being sure to run all decisions in life through the filter of God’s word: the Bible. True friendship is not exclusive and will not seek to limit but rather to encourage your growth personally as well as professionally. A real friend will not be threatened by the existence of others who are close to you.

-A Hero. A true friend will also be a hero, but not in the sense that you worship them, but rather that they will stand by your side when all others fail to encourage and support you. Jesus, though also Abba Father, is also our friend as he indeed chooses to call us his bridegroom as his love for us is so great. Mark 2:20But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and on that day they will fast.” God will never leave or forsake us as we should lift others up whose pursuit is the Kingdom.

-Is Open. Though there are many in our lives for whom our love will be founded on who they are today. However true friendship is based upon the ability to see others as they are as they change and evolve in life. Though others interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes may change, true friendship will be there through thick and then enduring all what lay ahead both good and bad.

-Spiritual. True friendship is based upon a higher calling, a spiritual plane, where one comes to know the true inner self and the heart of a persona rather than the way the world sees a person being based on fame, wealth, beauty, intelligence, strength or pride. True friendship requires us to obtain the attributes of Christ himself.

Jesus Christ himself was the only perfect model of friendship as he was not threatened by the friendship of others, he will never desert or forsake you, will be there as I change and grow, and is ready to talk to me at a moment’s notice. Jesus is patient with me as a friend, looking for and seeking always the best for me and my life. Though the feelings of love with change and frequently fade over time, true friendship is based upon mutual respect. It is wise when seeking to be a friend to frequently consider that it is often better to be kind, that it is to be right. Also, learning to rise above life’s circumstances allows us the opportunity to gain the altitude and attitude to see life from God’s perspective enabling us to be Jesus hands and feet in the lives of others.

Returning from Our Mission Trip…Taking Christianity Into the World

Returning from Our Mission Trip…Taking Christianity Into the World

As we all wind back into the world where we will find tons of traffic, a tight economy, being too busy, and Satan looking to steal our joy each and every day. Satan will use every tool in his tool box to lead us astray and away from God. Accordingly I have learned that I need to be even more persistent to ensure that God stays in the center of my life and not just on Sundays. To this end I strive to always keep at my ready and active in my life:

Bible Verses. Ones that I know and can call on out loud to help me stay centered in God’s grace and power. My favorites are Jeremiah 29:11, John 14:6, Psalm 27 and Psalm 1

Christian Friends. When we stumble and fall or are led astray, we need those around us who will prod us back to the right path and do whatever necessary to get us back on track. For where two or more of us are gathered, there God will be also.

A Good Church. We have that and an very wise and capable leader in our new pastor Stuart Greene, but we need to be much more than just Sunday sitters. We need to look to develop/serve locally on an ongoing basis. I have found that there is no better way to get out of a personal rut or a down time than to go out to serve. God will bless those who are blessing others.

Keeping a Journal Keeping track of where you have been will do much to help ensure that you see God’s ever present hand. There is nothing that I know of that is better to see God’s constant influence in our lives. Keeping a Journal is like a road map from your soul to God’s heart and ways.

A Visual. On our trip we all nailed to the cross our sins and problems that have plagued us and burned them to ashes on the Mesa/hilltop. Keep your nail in an prominent place as a reminder of God’s graciousness. Keeping our eyes on the cross and what God did for us there will do much to help us overcome the world.

I will never forget what you have done to serve both the God of the Heavens and the Navajo in Pueblo Pintado. I pray that God blesses you deeply in ways that you have never imagined as you live the rest of your life/The Ninth Day. Please know that our trip is not over, it will never end, I and my family remain ready and willing to walk with you through all that life brings as you are God’s chosen ones, whom we love and adore.

In the Matchless Name of Jesus Christ, john

Atlanta Christian Keynote Speaker/Author John Dillard CPA Serves as Spiritual Leader on Family Mission Trip Through Sugarloaf United Methodist Church

Taking Christianity Into the World. What does this mean? What does this look like? Well, it is a group of sixty committed people ranging from the age of six to seventy, men and women who are determined to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. When Jesus was called back into heaven ascending into the sky, his last words were perhaps some of his most important. Though many see His charge as the Great Omission, it was not. It was the Great Commission calling us a Believes to take Christianity to the ends of the earth.

Our trip is to serve the Navajo people living in Pueblo Pintado, New Mexico; here in the United States. Missions do not have to be overseas; they do not have to even be out of town. Indeed Missions should start and begin in the home. Serving Christ by Serving Others should be a part of our daily life, our inner-self and indeed who we are. Missions is not about a good week but is specifically directed towards changing lives and moving others towards a closer walk with the Lord and ultimately in developing disciples.

While in the desert of NM we will serving by having Vacation Bible School, working with Social Services, teaching and walking with Seniors, construction for the infirmed and elderly and whatever else that Christ lays on our heart. Though we will plan much before we leave, as well we should. But on our arrival, however, we will be open and eagerly seeking the prompting of the Holy Spirit as He leads us to do his bidding. Guide our steps as we seek to learn WWJD – “What Would Jesus Do.”

Walking the Walk; Talking the Talk…Taking Christianity Into the World

Walking  the Walk; Talking the Talk…Taking Christianity Into the World

As part of the Body of Believers we are all called Lay People. Some of us seem to have gotten the impression that being a Lay Person means that we “lay down” and do nothing more than attend church on Sunday. Though honoring the Sabbath is one of the Ten Commandments, being a Christian “just on Sunday” is not what we are called to do. Whether you serve you community locally or globally, being the Hands and Feet of Jesus is when you are best able to see Christ in action and great miracles and life changing events both in you, those you serve with, and to whom you serve.

In the Old Testament, Nehemiah is not only a great example of Leadership 101 but also a calling to all Believers, regardless of age, status, stature, gender or location to step out and accomplish great things in God’s name. God is A Voice of One exhorting you to accomplish great things in God’s name. God did not call us to a life of passivity but one of boldness, where be in great confidence march forward under the power of Christ and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Several years ago, while attending Northpoint Community Church I was blessed to meet a woman who was on fire with God. The Holy Spirit softly called to her leading her to long-term overseas missions. God did not call her to visit for a week, a month, or even a year. He called her to change who she was, what she did, and where she lived. In answering God’s calling fully she sold everything she owned including her home in Buckhead, complete with a tennis court, pool, acreage and a lake view to go overseas and to live in poverty. Laying down her life, living in abundance and in freedom, Rebecca chose to go where Christ led. For the first several years Rebecca, lived in China and has since moved to Thailand where she presently serves, while fulfilling the Great Commission.

Though Rebecca does visit the U.S. to gain strength as well as financial support, her home is where God directs. Her letter is incredible, her story is legendary as Christ is right in the middle of it. I encourage you to be still after its reading, let God touch your heart and to seek what God would have you do as we all look to Take Christianity Into the World.

“Sawhatthikha” (Greetings) from half-way around the world in Thailand!  Many of you have heard me tell the story of the precious girl (one of my
“daughters” God has given me) that God had me meet in the bar brothels when I first came to Bangkok almost 3 years ago.  It was amazing how God built our relationship considering I could not even speak her language when I
first met her.  I visited her in the bar brothel for almost a year.  God
made me feel so much love for her and as my Thai language skills progressed I was able to pray with her, witness to her, love on her, and be her mother and her friend.  I think you will feel very blessed to WATCH HER VIDEO.  It will be 10 minutes and 55 seconds well spent.  You will need to have some tissues handy.  I want you all to know how MUCH God used you in her life…You all supported me financially and prayerfully to be able to come serve in Bangkok so God could direct me to this prostitute.  Because of you partnering with me, God used my relationship with this girl to bring her out of the bar brothel to NightLight where she gets to go to church service every day and have Bible Studies, prayer ministry and work making jewelry in an environment of unconditional love.  Because of you helping me to stay in Bangkok, this once prostitute is now saved, baptized and a praise and worship leader in our NightLight church.
http://www.xpmedia.com/geSepQEH4KlT
There is a picture of a beautiful Thai girl with black hair and bangs.  It is 10 minutes, 55 seconds long. “Khaw pradjao ouypon khun kha”  (God bless you) Love, Rebecca

Her testimony is in Thai language, but after a few seconds an English
translation will also come on…so please be patient. Note;  When she
references the word “bar” she means “bar brothel” and when she says she
“worked at a bar” she means she “worked as a prostitute”.   Your time spent clicking on the link below will be time well-spent.  Trust me you will
feel blessed as you see how God has transformed her life.  You had a big
part in this transformation!

A Message from John Dillard

Over the years I felt a tugging on my heart to write. For a great while I did not know what my subject was to be about but eventually, the Holy Spirit revealed what he wanted for my life and for me. My first book was a Christian Fiction/Romance/Murder Mystery titled Charleston Dawn and is about romance the way God intended. After I wrote my first book, I felt God prompting me to write Low Country Calling which is an action packed thrill a minute ride as an F-18 Super Hornet fighter pilot bravely faces near disaster over the air and on the desert floor in Iraq. After his narrow escape from death, our pilot is eventually called to be a pastor in the Low Country of Charleston, South Carolina.

One of the talents God alone has blessed me with is one of exhortation. Over the last thirty years of my life, my focus has been predominantly on the New Testament. As I have grown both in my walk and my study of the Bible, I have discovered the richness, body and compassion of the Old Testament. No longer do I see an angry God but how much he loves each and every one of us deeply and whose undeniable commitment to his people is frequently missed amidst many of the Old Testaments tribulations. Thus, I set out to write the Inspiration Series!

After several months of prayer to discover what it is God would have me write, I opened my Bible to the first page of the book of Nehemiah in the Old Testament. There I discovered fresh revelations of which I had never before heard or seen. Discovering God’s grace and compassion, I studied and as God divinely guided my hand, I wrote A Voice of One and how Nehemiah, a layman, steps out to accomplish great things in God’s name. I had my own “Nehemiah type” experience as I was led to change Georgia law requiring restitution for medical and counseling care to be paid by the guilty party to the victims of felony crimes.

Soon afterward, I wrote Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s as God revealed his truth to my heart and mind. Learning new truths from scripture, I discovered God’s hand both in my life and that of others. Studying in the Old Testament the book of Job, we come face to face as we learn God will never forsake us or give us more than we can bear. I also wrote Overcoming Life’s 9/11’s as a result of two prolonged illnesses that included four major surgeries, cancer, diverticulitis, and six weeks of hospital stay.

Coming in the spring of 2008 is a work I am very excited about, Seven Habits of Highly Effective Believers. Though God’s word can never be summed up in any less than the Bible, which is God’s ultimate love story to his people, Seven Habits of Highly Effective Believers is a manual Believers will be able to review again and again each time gaining fresh insight to their walk. In my own life I have learned through careful study and analysis that we all need a spiritual road-map to guide us along life’s way. Through this study and effort, I have learned much of what I feel led to pass along to others as they seek God’s will for their lives.

I believe that God has specifically called me to this place and time and to share His word and love with all that I encounter. I have learned that through diligence, perseverance, and faith that we indeed can do great things in His name. Our task is simply to be obedient and to perform the tasks He set out before us while leaving all the results and all the glory to Christ. John strives to live by his pastor’s words, “We should all dare to accomplish something so great that it is doomed to failure lest Christ be in it!”

No one, no not one of us is given a spirit to timidity, we are to go out and to live our lives as Jesus would boldly stepping out in faith to lead others in love to a closer relationship with Christ. John’s favorite Apostle was Paul who suffered gladly claiming the name of Christ for all of his doings while taking no personal credit all the while fervently spreading the Good News of the Gospel. Paul counted it great joy in all his sufferings and in his weakness he found the perfect strength of our Savior. Paul indeed counted it great gain to die, as he knew that he would join Christ in the heavens and would live with Him forever!

John’s favorite Bible verses are used in his writing and are some of the many of God’s promises that he clings in his own walk with Christ. This effort has been one of love, one to share who God is and can be in your life while telling you of how much God loves you and wants you to accept his calling. God wants to be the true center of your life. All you have to do is believe and to have faith. Reach out for Him in all that you do and Christ will find you in a deep and meaningful way!
