Atlanta CPA Offers Thanksgiving for Warriors for the Kingdom of  God…Taking Christianity Into the World

Serving the Lost the Last and the Least

It was an honor to serve alongside you this Thanksgiving. God is deeply touched and honored by your efforts. Continue in your efforts to excel in all that you do and to look to the needs of others. Reading God’s word and applying it to your life and Christian Service, is how God will best pour out his power and majesty in your lives.

I watched every one of you intently on this day as you poured out God’s love and put down your busy daily lives and did What Jesus Would Do on this great day. You have answered this call and sought out His will for you, your family and your lives. I encourage you to draw a line in the sand and use this Thanksgiving as a defining moment in your lives to seek to Serve Him in All That You Do. If you accept this heavenly ordained will for your life, God will meet you where you are, guiding your steps.

In the Old Testament, Nehemiah was burdened by prayer and tears for the walls of Jerusalem, which lay in ruins. In Nehemiah’s Obedience, he sought out by prayer, God’s blessings and favor for his work. Nehemiah personally went to inspect the city walls to see what might be done to protect God’s chosen people. This Thanksgiving you have inspected the walls of the Homeless of Atlanta and found what I have also seen. A people who need love, a hand up and most of all God’s love from God’s people.

Seek always to Live in Obedience to His word and He will honor your efforts regardless of life’s circumstances, illness, job loss, family, work and school issues. We believe that God uses the oldest to the youngest in perfect unity to His will. He God uses us all, especially our weakness and our failings to serve, uplift and mentor to the needs of others. For it is in our weakness that we are strong. It is when we decrease and put aside things of the world, that God can use us to do great things in God’s name.

I invite you to join us on a great journey to work alongside Pastor 7 and the 7 Bridges to Recovery to Serve the Lost the Last and the Least of Atlanta. God wants you to live expectantly and to expect to be able to do Great Things in God’s Name, always seeking and expecting the Power and Majesty of Christ. If you live Humbly Seeking to Serve, Rather than Being Served, You will Be the Hands and Feet of Jesus Christ bringing miracles into your life and the lives of others.

God has a Great Plan for You and Your Life. Join us as We Do This Great Thing God has laid on our Hearts.

In the Matchless Name of Our Lord and Savior,
John & Tami Dillard
Dare to Attempt Something so Great for the Kingdom of God that it is doomed to failure, lest Christ be in it!

Gwinnett CPA on Holiday Service Opportunity: Feeding the Homeless in Atlanta…Taking Christianity Into the World

My wife and I were blessed to be able to serve at 7 Bridges to Recovery where we met Pastor 7 and his men!  This Thanksgiving in 2009, we will be serving the homeless men and women of Atlanta as we bring a Thanksgiving feast and God’s word to many people living under the bridges of the streets of Atlanta and some canned goods to the shelter.  We will also be collecting jackets and sleeping bags to help keep those who cannot do for themselves warm this upcoming winter.

We are collecting any items that will assist in keeping our friends under the bridges warm.  If you have blankets, sleeping bags, winters clothing, ANY ITEMS to keep the cold away, please let us know and we will either pick them up or you can bring them to us. If you want you and your family to be involved please contact John Dillard at 770 814 9304. Please note that this trip is Good for the Whole Family.

Thank you for caring and please pray for Pastor 7, his men and the ministry. To learn about his ministry visit http://www.7bridgestorecovery.org/home_page.html  Below is a sample of his weekly e-mail to the world along with their needs. Pray to see what God might have you do to serve Him in your community:

Hey children of God! Sorry about the delay, we have been really busy. Here is the word of the week.

Seeds and Faith Galatians 6:7-10. Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. -Galatians 6:7. I read a fable about a man who was browsing in a store when he made the shocking discovery that God was behind a sales counter. So the man walked over and asked, “What are You selling?” God replied, “What does your heart desire?” The man said, “I want happiness, peace of mind, and freedom from fear… for me and the whole world.” God smiled and said, “I don’t sell fruit here. Only seeds.”

In Galatians 6, Paul stressed the importance of sowing seeds of God honoring behavior, for “whatever a man sows, the he will also reap” We can’t expect the fruit of God’s blessings if we don’t see the importance of doing our part. I helps to follow the example of others who have sown good seed. Are you weary of the way you are? Ask God for his help, and begin sowing seeds of new actions and responses. In due season the Spirit will give the increase.

We’re always sowing seeds in life by everything we do and say. So let’s make sure the fruit we reap comes from the good we do each day. The seeds we sow today determine the kind of fruit we’ll reap tomorrow.

Just to give everybody an update. I thank God for my new sister and brother in Christ that is furnishing Thanksgiving dinner. After we get through serving the women and children at the garden dinner, there will be at least 70 people going to serve under the bridges. Feel free to come and serve on Thanksgiving at the Garden and under the bridges. Just to let you know we are already planning the Christmas concert on December the 19th at 7 p.m. Here is a need list.

Author Samuel Shoemaker said that a good example can either inspire us or cause us to say, “Oh yes, nerves or impatience or worry as I am; he is just a happier temperament.” Shoemaker continued, ”It may not occur to us that perhaps he had to fight for his serenity, and that we might win if we would do the same.”

Duluth CPA Presents Service Opportunity This Thanksgiving: Serving the Homeless: Taking Christianity Into the World

Hope this finds you doing well and having a great week.  As if there isn’t enough going on at Thanksgiving, I wanted to tell you about an opportunity that has come up.  Some of us from Sugarloaf United Methodist Church were blessed to serve with Pastor 7 and pass out food to the homeless this past Saturday.  It is an incredible ministry and the devotion and dedication that he and his “crew” have for the homeless and misplaced is awe-inspiring.  One need he expressed was that they don’t have any plans for Thanksgiving to feed everyone at 7Bridges so a few of us put our heads together and decided that that would be a great way to spend our Thanksgiving.  So here is what we’re doing…

  • Collecting coats, blankets, sleeping bags, gloves, caps, lotion to deliver to the homeless later that day.  Pastor 7 will be taking us to downtown Atlanta under the bridges to deliver these in person.
  • Asking for help to come to Smyrna on Thanksgiving day to help us cook and serve the homeless women & men who are trying to turn their life around.  You don’t have to stay all day – a few hours or even one would be appreciated
  • Asking for help in collecting food or money for food to purchase the food that we are going to cook and serve
  • Asking for people who have families to celebrate Thanksgiving with to cook an extra dish of something they are serving and donate it to us to take to 7Bridges.

Please pass this e-mail along to anyone who might be able/willing to help with any of the above.  We would love to serve alongside you on Thanksgiving.

God bless You All.

Thank you for caring and please pray for Pastor 7, his men and the ministry. To learn about his ministry visit http://www.7bridgestorecovery.org/home_page.html
