Duluth GA /Alpharetta/Roswell CPA Offers Sample Support Letter to Raise Financial & Prayer Support for Navajo Family Missions…Taking Christianity Into the World

The model that I believe is having the largest impact in Worldwide and Local Mission Work is to seek the prayer and financial support of others to support in action and deed efforts to support others in being the Hands & Feet of Jesus Christ. Below is a Sample Support Letter one might use as a guide in developing their own:

I hope that all is well with you.  Life has been going so fast here lately with work, church and family.  I have been so blessed by God over the past few years and have grown so much through the ministries of our church, Sugarloaf UMC.  It has been a long journey, but worth every minute.

Part of that journey is stepping out in faith to do some radical things and this summer, July 11-July 17, I have prayerfully committed to go with a group from my church to Pueblo Pintado, NM.  As Matthew 28:19-20 reminds us:  “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

I feel a genuine calling to go and help these people.  In an area that is faced with severe poverty, alcoholism, drug abuse, violent crimes, no jobs and so much more, many of the children are forced to go to work and are not allowed to finish high school or some even middle school.  They have faced many pains over the years as they have desperately tried to hang on to their culture.  They are a warm, loving people who are slow to trust because of the atrocities that have befallen them – but they are so grateful when we come and just share our love and our time with them.

Our mission will be to go and help them through vacation bible school, construction, adult bible study, ministry, sports camps, senior center visits, community nights. to talk about the transforming power of Jesus Christ and so much more.  Just being able to be the hands and feet of Christ is enough to reach these people and show them God’s love.

I hope that you will join me on the journey.  Given the nature of the trip, there are many things that can’t be accomplished without your support.  I would be so honored if you would work alongside me prayerfully and financially.  I so need your prayers during this trip, as does the rest of our mission team.  Please begin to pray that as a team we follow God’s will, for the people of Pueblo Pintado and that when it is time for us to go, we will be prepared for experiences that our eyes and our hearts have never experienced.  Along with prayer, I also need to raise $800 per person to cover my transportation, room and board.

If you are willing to give sacrificially, either with prayer or financial support, please fill out the enclosed card and mail it back in the self-address stamped envelope.  If you chose to give financially, please make your checks out to Sugarloaf UMC.

I am so excited to be a part of this team and I thank you for your support and for taking this journey with me.

In the Matchless Name of Jesus Christ,

To get a feel for our work on the Mission Field in Pueblo Pintado NM might I invite you to watch our video at http://bit.ly/QS0V9 If you listen and watch with an open heart, it will change your world. To gain a glimpse of our vision visit or if your church wants to get involved with our work visit   http://www.hiscpa.com/blog/2009/07/30/casting-a-vision-navajo-family-missions-taking-christianity-into-the-world/

We feel led to take Christ to the Navajo Nation (approximately the size of West Virginia). We are looking to take our model of service to the Navajo in Pueblo Pintado by partnering with churches, Bible Study Groups, Rotary, Chambers of Commerce and Kiwanis and then branching out to other locations on the reservation.

Duluth GA CPA on Missions: Do You Want a Good Week or to Make a Difference in People’s Lives…Taking Christianity Into the World

God asks us to excel in all things. As a Believer I think that requires us to do our very best at work, school, home, chores and essentially everywhere we go every second of the day. However there is perhaps no greater calling than when we tells others the good news of Jesus Christ. For the last three years my family and I have been blessed to serve the Navajo People. There is no greater calling, than laying down our lives and seeing to the needs of others. In answering this call, we first sought to be bold in our faith and to excel at all levels of our trip. When Jesus summed up the Bible he told us to love others as we love ourselves and to love our Lord with all our heart and mind. It was to this end we set out to SERVE the wonderful and blessed people and our Native Americans the Navajo.

One of our first mission goals was not to have a great week, but to have a great relationship. We began to search out the multitudes of ways we might encourage, walk with, support and befriend our new best friends. To this end, we seek to see others as God sees them with all the love and joy in our hearts, with no hold backs and without reserve. There is no greater joy than when we reach out to others in His name. I just received this note from our primary contact, Arnold,  who lives there on the reservation. The words speak to themselves of the love that has been poured out on God’s people the Navajo. I am blessed and honored to have served alongside you and look forward to higher heights still as we broaden and deepen our love for these incredible people.

Will I don’t know how the Lord got us together, many thanks in having  my family with you for a week and taking care of them. You two have a good heart in people and friends from the wonderful story and information I have heard from others when I picked them up at the airport (Monday) and the wonderful church and people they meet at your church. I keep praying for my church and my pastor getting will and getting more members in our church. Again thanks for the many things you do for my family and take care, love from you brother and family.

Atlanta CPA Asks Have you Been Prosecuted for Your Faith Today?… Taking Christianity Into the World

God is good for I know when I seek Him, live according to His precepts and live in His will for my life I find a peace about me that truly does surpass all understanding. It is often when we are doing the most good for the Kingdom of God that naysayers as well as Satan will join together in an effort to derail our Godly effort.

I exhort you to do something today to further the Kingdom of God. Go Tell Others About Christ, Share your Faith, Help Out Someone in Need, Encourage Those Who Are Suffering, Strengthen Those Who Need You and most importantly of all to Be the Hands & Feet of Jesus Christ. Look to ways that you can serve the Lost, the Last and the Least and to lead them to our Almighty God.

By our thinking globally while serving locally we as Christian Believers can unite the Body of Christ and to be Light Unto the World. If you are being prosecuted for your efforts to fulfill your God given destiny you are doing great things for God’s Glory so continue to fight the good fight and to do all you can to be the very Hands and Feet of Jesus Christ.

Dare to Attempt Something so Great for the Kingdom of God that it is doomed to failure, lest Christ be in it!

If you would like to join us, please meet us at Sugarloaf UMC at 10:30am and we’ll all caravan down of if you prefer you can meet us at the K-Mart off Cleveland Avenue and Interstate I-75 at 11:45 a.m.

Also, please make a minimum of 5 sack lunches for each person going to include:  water, PB&J sandwich, chips, sweet snack, fruit and maybe a little valentine treat if you want.  If you have donations of clothing, coats, blankets, etc., please bring them with you – they can use it all. If you would like a list of donations needed, please let me know.  We would love to see you and serve with you again so come if you can.

Pastor 7 with 7 Bridges to Recovery is doing great things to Feed the Homeless of Atlanta while spreading the word of God. I suggest you go down and see what he is doing on the weekends to take the message to the streets of Atlanta. I believe he would be a great speaker to the whole congregation and Discipleship Groups as people are looking for opportunities to get real with their faith by being the very Hands and Feet of Jesus Christ.

Atlanta /Alpharetta/Grayson CPA Provides Tips to Spiritual Survivability…Taking Christianity Into the World

I have been wondering (obsessed) what I could possibly say to people in order for them to have a better life.  I do not really know why because my life certainly has not been what I would consider a standard for anyone to follow.  But none-the-less, I am going to give it a shot.

I think there are three things people, especially young people, need to address from the day they begin working, or sooner.  They are Vision, Guidance, and Wisdom.  There is one other thing but I will address it later on.  But if you seriously address these three things early on, then your life will be better in every aspect.

Vision:  What is it? Well, it is that ability to look ahead knowing where you wish to go whether it is education, financial, or spiritual.  It is extremely important that every person or couple set goals for themselves.  Without goals you just kind of wander around in this vast space we call life.  There will always be ups and downs, but without vision of your goals those ups and downs will usually be totally out of your control.  With vision you will recognize the ups and downs and be able to react, and in most cases to control them. By the way I think the ups can be more dangerous than the downs because you can become too complacent and not recognize an approaching down just as has happened to most of us at the present time.  Give your goals a lot of thought.  Make them challenging but make them realistic.  If you make them unrealistic you will become frustrated and lose focus.  I think most of your goals should be in increments of no more than five years, tweaking them as you go.  The only exception to this is saving money for your retirement.  It is never too early to start that and I think you should sacrifice other areas of you goals to maintain your savings program.  The bottom line is, you must have a vision of where you are going in order to know how to get there.

Guidance:  This having control, management, and supervision of your vision.  Daily supervision is the best way to realize you goals.  There are many ways of accomplishing this.  The best way is through a mentor.  Talking to people you know who are successful is the best way that I know to get good advice.  This can be relatives, friends, or people you do not know but who give out information via biographies, news articles or speeches.  Most of this can be available for free.  I also think the Wall Street Journal is an excellent source of information of what is happening and who is being successful in managing their affairs.  Read everything you can about Warren Buffet because as ruthless as he is, you cannot go wrong by following his basic business and personal strategies.  He always says it does not make any difference whether you are talking about $100 or a million, the same strategy applies.  If it is education you need advice, then recognize your talents and seek out those of similar or same talents who are successful.  If you use your education and talents collectively I am sure you life will be both personally rewarding and serve a great purpose to your community.  I cannot imagine a more rewarding experience than helping someone else achieve their goals. To paraphrase, Ask not what people can do for you, but ask what you can do for them.  I wish that I would have done this because I think I was born to serve others, but just never would take the time. It is a shame that something you knew all your life, but just never really admit it until late in life.  What a waste!  Anyway, guidance is extremely important for you to achieve you vision.  Seek out some who is willing to mentor you in accomplishing your goals.

Wisdom:  In my opinion, wisdom would be the greatest gift anyone could have.  Without it all the vision and guidance in the world would be totally useless if you do not have the common sense to apply what you learn to achieve your goals.  I am sure you have heard people say, Yeah he is really smart, but he doesn’t have any common sense.  Well common sense will overcome a whole lot of ignorance.  People with a lot of common sense may not be the most educated, or rich, but they seem to fill the otherwise void in this world that makes the entire system work.  These are the people that live within their means, don’t try to keep up with the “Jones’s” and just make sure that their contribution to the world is to maintain the balance.  I envy them because during these troubled times, they are the ones who seem to be doing just fine.  They are not losing their homes, their jobs, and their families always seem to be close.  I guess they just go about doing their business, knowing they will survive.  So I guess the best thing I can say here is to say have the insight to live within your means and make your decisions using the best information you can get and applying just good old common sense.  Remember advice is just advice and opinions are just opinions.  The decisions need to be yours, because you are the only one who really knows your circumstances.  In your vision, wherever you are, work every day to be the best person you can be, doing the best you can do, with what you have to do it with, to the glory of God.

Finally as I said at the beginning of this rambling there is one other item that needs to be in you plan for a better life.

GOD!  Would it not be great to see our vision of our life through God’s eyes?  He wants all of us to have a wonderful and fulfilling life here on earth.  We are His creation!  We are His greatest love!  He gave us His only Son! So why would he not want us to have a fulfilling life? By the way we can see our vision of our life through God’s eyes.  It is laid out in the Holy Bible, His Word.  He wants us to fulfill our dreams.  All He asks is that we do it to His glory!  How hard is that?  Very!  He knew that and that is why He sent us our Savior, Lord Jesus Christ!!!  We must all remember our vision is not a vision at all if we do not include The Heavenly Father as our sole purpose of having a vision of our life.  Study yourself and when you are thinking of that dream home, job, or financial achievement you wish to accomplish in life, make sure that it is all to the Glory to our Heavenly Father.  Your vision will never be totally realized without Him being the utmost benefactor of your vision.

Where could you get better guidance for fulfilling you vision than from the greatest of mentors, our Heavenly Father?  Nowhere! Psalm 37:4, 7 says, “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass….Rest in the Lord, wait patiently for Him.”  It goes without saying that our timing is not necessarily God’s timing. Pray and ask for His guidance.  Don’t be in a hurry, and He will give you the path you need to take that will fulfill your vision and His glory.

Except for our Lord and Savior, I think wisdom is our greatest gift from God.  As Proverbs 2:6 says, “For the Lord gives wisdom and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.”  In all we are thinking about doing, we should pray to our Heavenly Father as to the wisdom of that decision.  Although the Father gives us a discerning heart, I think the best wisdom we can have is to ask Him for confirmation of our decisions. Again, we must be patient, but we must be persistent through prayer.  Having said that, a person, whom I love, reminded me that we should always be mindful that above all the Father’s will be done.  Be careful to pray for your needs.  It is okay to have some of your wants, but the Father is most interested in fulfilling your needs so you can accomplish what His vision is for you.

I read somewhere that the Bible has very little to say about our goals.  I disagree.  The entire Bible is in reference to the goal of living an everlasting life in the presence of our Heavenly Father.  What greater goal can there be?

With Love

Glory be to our Heavenly Father. Amen

Atlanta CPA Advises Your Actions Speak so Loud I Can’t Hear What You Say…Taking Christianity Into the World

The world teaches us that in all situations that there are shades of “gray” and that life is what we make of it, how we see it, how we feel and should be evaluated from our own life perspective at every turn. The world would suggest that we are all capable of determining our own way without regard for the truth or for others. As such, it is difficult for Believers to acknowledge the truth and nothing but the truth as when Jesus said:

Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. Matthew 5:37

In life I have learned that it is much more important what a person does, rather than what a person says. As Believers we are required to live by a higher standard letting our words be both truthful and simple. When Jesus spoke truth into others lives, he did not “wax eloquently” or add prose and a myriad of rules and regulations but rather in straightforward ways that all of us can understand. Accordingly our word should be our bond and we should not add or subtract from it with extraneous or superfluous exaggerations or explanations. Living in the truth requires our directness, our sincerity, our heart and our minds pointed all towards both simplicity and the love of God.

Atlanta CPA Presents Word for the Day: Becoming Whole Romans 7:13-25…Taking Christianity Into the World

When a friend fell of her bike and suffered  a severe brain injury, doctors weren’t sure she would survive. For several days she reminded suspended between life and death. The first good news came when she opened her eyes. Then she responded to simple voice commands. But with very small improvement, anxiety remained. how far would she progress? After one difficult day of therapy, her husband was discouraged. But the very next morning he exclaimed:” Sandy’s back ! ” Physically, Mentally, and emotionally, Sandy was becoming the “self” we knew and loved.

Sandy’s fall reminds me of “the fall” of mankind (Gen. 3) And her struggle to recover parallels our struggle to overcome the brokenness of sin. ( Rom 7:18) If only her body healed, recovery would be incomplete. The same would be true if the brain worked but her body didn’t.

Wholeness means that all parts works together for one purpose. God is the one healing Sandy, but she has to work hard in therapy. The same is true of us spiritually. After God saves us through Christ, we must “work out” our salvation (Phil.2:12)- not to earn it but to bring our thoughts and actions into agreement with His purpose- Julie Ackerman Links

More like the Master I would ever be,

                 More of his meekness, more humility;

More zeal to labor, more courage to be true,

More consecration for work He bids me do. -Gabriel  ( to become whole, keep yielding to the Holy Spirit. )

With much love, I would greatly like to appreciate all the volunteers that keep this ministry running.  We will be having a LOVE Concert Feb 14th. It won’t be to raise $money$ but to show our love and appreciation for keeping this ministry alive. So always remember we thank you for all your support, prayer, and love.

Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. -Phil 2:12

Duluth CPA on Growing in the Lord…Taking Christianity Into the World

Today I received a note from a Believer who was seeking what they might do as they were at the lowest spiritual level personally that they had been in years. They were seeking what they might do to encourage and strengthen themselves in the Lord prompting me to suggest:

-A Home Church where you worship and serve regularly.

-A daily walk, where you study God’s word daily.

-A small group where you can learn God’s word with others weekly, who can also help and encourage you, grow with you and mentor.

-A Journal. Having a roadmap of what God is doing in your life is your best bet to know both where you have been and where you are going.

-A Passion. If you love Christ you will seek Him in prayer and strive learn all about Him, just as you would a new love.

-Service. There is perhaps no better way to gain God’s strength and blessings by humbly laying down your life for others. Fortunately there is nothing we have to do to earn our way into the Kingdom as it is a free gift and ours for the asking and acceptance by faith. However, there is much you can do to train both your heart and mind to be like His.
