Restoring Volkswagens as We Restore Our Lives

What Are You Doing to Draw Others Closer to God…Taking Christianity Into the World

Just as an Older VW Needs Love & Attention so Do We Need to Work to Grow Like Him

Well, the Bugs4Christ team started on a new project.  We are working on restoring a bright yellow 71 Super Beetle.  Tonight, Tyler, Curtis, Cole, and I did body work.  This bug does not have major damage but there are quite a few dings, especially on the fenders.  Even though the dings are minor they still take a lot of time to fix right.  We are still learning the fine art of mixing and applying bondo!

Working on the car tonight reminded me that I get a lot like that yellow bug.  My spiritual life has not suffered a major crash but I allow myself to get numerous dings and scratches as I drive down this road called life.  When I fail to consistently pray, study my Bible, worship,… I end up getting dinged up spiritually.  Fortunately we have a savior who wants us to look and feel new.  He died on the cross to forgive our sins (past present and future),  So tonight I am going to spend some time with Him and ask Him to forgive me for neglecting my relationship with Him.   How about you?

John Albrycht, a youth pastor  involved his youth group in the secret restoration of a 1971 VW Beetle. The project was dubbed “Bugs4Christ” and the Beetle soon became an object lesson in how God wants to restore our hearts to a right relationship with him. John wanted his youth to understand the mandate of Hebrews 10:23-25: “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope that we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching!” He wanted his youth to feel the power of encouraging others by restoring and giving the gift of unconditional love to the owner of the vintage car. Since that first incredible project, the members of this ministry have been involved in several other restoration projects including on the Mission Field in the desert of New Mexico as we loved and mentored our Native Americans, the Navajo. You can read more at www.Bugs4Christ.webs.com

Our Purpose: Mentor young men and women in their walk with Christ, while teaching them how to restore Volkswagen Beetles. We also model for them Christ’s unconditional love by giving these vehicles to those in need. On the Navajo Indian Reservation in Pueblo Pintado, NM we rebuilt a Volkswagen Beetle “VW” as the talk about the reforming, restoring and redeeming power of Christ. If you would like to be a part of our mission to serve the Lost, the Last and the Least I invite you to consider how you might partner with us by donating a part to the VW that will be used next year or that you family may want to go. For just as God calls us all to serve, we believe that Family Mission Trips are a way to bring all of those you most love closer to God.

To get a feel for our work on the Mission Field in Pueblo Pintado NM might I invite you to watch our video at http://bit.ly/QS0V9 If you listen and watch with an open heart, it will change your world. To gain a glimpse of our vision visit or if your church wants to get involved with our work visit   http://www.hiscpa.com/blog/2009/07/30/casting-a-vision-navajo-family-missions-taking-christianity-into-the-world/

Let Others Know How Much You Love Christ…Taking Christianity Into the World

The below is a recent example of a note we might receive from a Believer in Christ. Are you letting others know how much you love Christ?

I am an Accounting student in the Georgia State University. Most importantly, however, I am a follower of Christ! For this reason, I was searching the Internet one day to see if there were any Christian CPA firms and His CPA PC was the only one that came up. It also just so happened to be in Georgia. I checked it out and was encouraged to see the many scriptures posted all over your site. For quite some time I have been praying about what the Lord wanted me to do in respect to my future vocation (Missions is something that has been on my heart as well). The more I searched scripture, especially in Acts, I saw how often the brethren took care of the needs of the other brethren. The Apostle Paul also talks about how his hands have provided for himself and those who were with him (like when he stops to make tents). Many of these scriptures were ones I read while in Mexico helping out at an orphanage where most of the kids were followers of Christ.

It is my hope that I will be able to use the degree I will receive to help those in need (like it talks about in the New Testament) and to play a part in missions, locally and abroad. I am looking to work with others who are dedicated to the Lord and His glory!

Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God

I came across your quote “Dare to Attempt Something So Great for the Kingdom of God that it is Doomed to Failure, Lest Christ be in it,” while surfing the Net, and felt compelled to drop you a note and let you know what a blessing it was to come across such motivational and moving words.  I own a small, but growing printing company, and dream of building it into a Franchiser so that I have the resources to travel the world not only as a missionary, but also as a venture capitalist investing in third world-based entrepreneurs.  I hope this note finds you well…Have a great weekend!

Below is my response:

Thanks for visiting www.HisCPA.com and your most kind words.

Seek God in all that you do, consistently seek to learn more about Him and honor his precepts with your obedience and He will speak to and lead you.

If you need a CPA along the way we market exclusively to new ventures such as yours.

Be blessed & have a great day in the Lord,

Too Cold to Work: When the World Freezes You Out, Seek Your Creator

What Are You Doing to Draw Others Closer to God…Taking Christianity Into the World

Too Cold To Work

Well, we painted the Ghia just in time.   It has now stayed below freezing for more than a week.  I just can’t motivate myself to go work on the car when the temperature in the shop is below 40!  I guess it is just too comfortable inside the house by the fireplace.

I get like that spiritually also.  Sometimes it just feels too uncomfortable to serve the Lord like He wants me to.  Like that cold shop, Jesus asks us to go places and do things that take us way out of our comfort zone.  Just like that car is not going to get finished if I don’t get off of my rear end and risk getting a little cold, God’s work is not going to get done if I don’t get off my rear end and risk getting a little uncomfortable.

As much as In enjoy admiring a totally restored VW, it pales in comparison to the joy I get when I allow God to work through me to do His will!

The Big Question:  What work are you going to do for God this year?  Will you do it even if it is uncomfortable?

John Albrycht, a youth pastor  involved his youth group in the secret restoration of a 1971 VW Beetle. The project was dubbed “Bugs4Christ” and the Beetle soon became an object lesson in how God wants to restore our hearts to a right relationship with him. 7 Bridges to Recovery…Taking Christianity Into the World

We pray you had a fantastic week and were able to see God in ways you never have before! Thanks for taking the time to read our email and thank you again for the continued prayer and support.  Our children here at the Garden started back to school and we were able to supply them with all of their school supplies! Thank you to those of you that made that possible.  We are having a back-to-school celebration for everyone on Saturday August 14th.  The softball game will start at 3pm on the field next to the Garden. The concert, featuring the Garden Praise Team and other special guests, will be begin at 7pm and we invite all of you to come and celebrate with us! Put it on your calendars now and we hope to see you there on Saturday!

God is doing much in the ministry. I wish we had to time to give individual reports of lives that are being changed. We encourage you to come on out and see what God is up to. Join us under the bridges every Saturday or stop by the Garden any day for a glimpse of the Mighty Ways God is moving!  We hope to see some of you we have not seen in a few months with the busyness of summer winding down. If you can’t come out, please continue to pray for us and know that your prayers are being heard and answered! Thank you and Lord willing, we will have another update next week!

GO JESUS GO JESUS GO!  LOVE,  7

Pastor 7 with 7 Bridges to Recovery is doing great things to Feed the Homeless of Atlanta while spreading the word of God. I suggest you go down and see what he is doing on the weekends to take the message to the streets of Atlanta. I believe he would be a great speaker to the whole congregation and Discipleship Groups as people are looking for opportunities to get real with their faith by being the very Hands and Feet of Jesus Christ.    You can read about his Ministry at http://www.7bridgestorecovery.org/home_page.html   We are actively involved in going and supporting Pastor 7 and the great work he is doing to Serve the Lost, the Last & the Least.

Busted Studs…When Your Life Breaks, Do You Turn to Your Creator?

What Are You Doing to Draw Others Closer to God…Taking Christianity Into the World

Busted Studs

The ultimate frustration when it comes to working on VW bugs is when you have to remove a broken stud.  Last week, when we were working on the yellow bug, the head stud for the exhaust system broke when we removed the muffler.  We have tried almost every trick of the trade to remove it but it refuses to budge.  We have run out of options so we soaked it with penetrating oil and we will tackle it again when we have a full dose of patience!

When witnessing to those who do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, we can experience similar frustration.  We explain, testify, appeal, and even beg but sometimes they just refuse to respond to the message of the Gospel.  Have no fear, the Holy Spirit acts as a penetrating oil to loosen the heart of the lost and draw them to Christ.  I am reminded that I should not only be persistent in telling others about Jesus but my walk should match my talk!  God is also reminding me that it is His job to bring the lost to Him and He will do it in His time!  An encouraging verse about the frustrations associated with witnessing can be found in 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some of you understand slowness.  He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

Be persistent but be patient, God is at work leading the lost to Him!

The project was dubbed “Bugs4Christ” and the Beetle soon became an object lesson in how God wants to restore our hearts to a right relationship with him. Atlanta CPA: on the Top 25!

What Are You Doing to Draw Others Closer to God…Taking Christianity Into the World

Top 25!

Bugs4Christ entered 4 cars in the Aggregates / Relay For Life Car Show this weekend.  We had an incredible time and our 1972 VW Karman Ghia placed in the “Top 25″ and we received a plaque.  When they called out  #12 as a winner, I was totally shocked and dumbfounded.  I could only thank God for working out a miracle.  With only $3,200 invested including the cost of the car, it was chosen over cars that probably had that much invested in the paint job.

In the same way I am shocked and dumbfounded that my God chose me and adopted me as his child.  Jesus went to the cross to provide a way for me to spend eternity in heaven!  No, I did not deserve it but I will humbly accept the place He has prepared for me in heaven.

You too can be chosen by God to be His child!  Romans 10:13 says: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Now that’s good news!!

Atlanta CPA on Magnifying Christ

Taking Christianity into the World

We pray this email finds you well and you and that Christ is magnified in your body whether by life or by death. We have had a beautiful week and have much to praise Him for! We brought home our bus from Mississippi and should have it insured and ready to go in the next day or so. Last week, we mentioned we needed a fuel-efficient vehicle for travel and evangelism and God has blessed us with one! Again, He knows our needs and provides far beyond anything we could ever ask or imagine! All praise goes to Him! We had a sister church, Trinity Chapel, come and bless us with painting and the furnishing of Wanda’s apartment. We had multiple churches and groups come out to serve with us as we reach out to the least and the lost. We have brought in more people from off the streets and have a full house here at the Garden! God is faithful. God is moving. God is extravagant!

Our brother, Gary Graham, with Young-N-Christ ministries, is having a prayer initiative on August 8th and desires 1000 churches to partner with him to pray for the youth of America. We ask for you to join us and him on August 8th and pray for our youth. Here at 7 Bridges, we have youth coming to serve us constantly, and we desire each one of their hearts to be transformed into the image of Christ.  They are our future and we want to see a future generation that magnifies Christ in life and in death!

Thank you for taking the time to read this update and again for your continued support. Lord willing, we will have another update next week. Until then, have a blessed and highly favored week!

Duluth GA CPA Presents: Duluth Christian Men’s Group

Taking Christianity Into the World

Many thanks to Aarron Pina for leading a very challenging Men Step Up discussion last Friday.  No doubt that many of you and me are still thinking about the questions that were asked.

This week, you are stuck with me again.  We are going to talk about the dynamics of communication – listening versus talking.  So, I will give you a head start on our discussion.  Which best describes you?  Are you a talker or a listener?  Think about it.

Who, in your life, needs you to be a listener?  Who needs to hear from you?  If you’re like me, you may have those people confused…talking to those who need you to listen and listening to those who need someone to tell them the truth.

Listen, I have a great idea…let’s talk about it on Friday from 6:30am – 7:30pm @ California Dreaming (Old Peachtree Rd & I-85 exit 109).  To learn more you can contact Casey at 404-918-5343
