Payers for a New Year

Payers for a New Year
The World will Tell Us to Seek to Be Famous…
But God Tells Us to Be Servants…
Nehemiah in the Old Testament was solely responsible for being the cupbearer to a king…
In this, Nehemiah did not seek to be Famous, but sought to be significant in his role…
Of serving others…
Jesus did not come into the world…
To Rule Over It, But to Serve it.
———————————————–
I was at the lake recently and the night sky was so clear…
I could see the light of a plane thousands of feet high…
Reflecting brightly off the water below…
This year I began it seeking to be Obedient….
But I end it seeking to daily discover ways…
I can serve others & to tell them the Good News of Jesus Christ.
I pray that 2012 is a year of great Spiritual Growth & Awakening.
Leading You to Discover Who God Made You to Be.
In the Matchless Name of Jesus Christ,

Are you Looking For your Grow Group to Learn To be a Disciple?

Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

Are you Looking For your Grow Group to Learn To be a Disciple?

I believe our group and those we will be sharing this with are equipped with a strong enough  understanding of the biblical definition of what being a disciple is and that we are being commanded to become disciples and a strong measure of faith to want to become a disciple.

I like the idea of simplicity and playing off of who the 12 disciples were and their respective skill sets and un-comfortablity with the task at hand

Essentially, I think this is a kind of Sales 101 class about equipping them with a clear understanding in the skill sets needed  to effectively communicate with others . Folks will need to have willingness to be open and honest with group about comfort level of sharing weaknesses and strengths.

This is not about being a mamby pampy disciple ( thought you might appreciate that)  While not a grueling discipleship class

Three Fears That Hold us Back.

Seven Strengths to Disciple From

Phase One
A.)         Three Fears That Hold us Back.
Seven Strengths to Disciple From

1.) Identify/Discuss the three fears
How they can affect us
How they apply to each of us individually and the importance of knowing that
2.) Seven Strengths to Disciple From

B.)Getting started

1.)Specifics of exactly  what will we be asking our disciples to do ( non biblical approach )
Includes action items and a timeline of our objectives.  I also believe it includes a checklist of sorts for keeping track of steps we have accomplished

2.)Identify the necessary skill sets and a combination thereof for individuals to become proficient at
Fit in aspect of that our approach in the field may be done in teams of two at first ( great , I am going door to door as a Modern Day Christian)

3.) What the disciple is now-  Our disciples must be teachable and able to teach others
Identify areas of strength and giftedness.   Identify areas of weakness   Make a plan to use their strengths and develop in their areas of weakness.  Establish a benchmark

4.) Develop and share top three or four catch phrases to be rehearsed, customized and used in every day life  as well as a condensed reference source of bible verses, etc

5.) Field Trip!
Teams of two – On Monday night at 6:30 meet at local businesses, ie: Publix, Dollar Store etc
Love on the people we come in contact with
Back to Home Base to share and laugh at each other
* need to develop material that will help us evaluate and build on our pre determined weaknesses and strengths,
* Also need to have a process to develop our “course” as we go

6.) Assessment point – where is our bench mark now, how close are we to accomplishing goals, repeat process, add new dimensions etc.

Do You Truly Believe???

Do You Truly Believe???

In the Reading for James 5 I saw..

James 5:17-18  Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! 18 Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops.

God cannot be any more clear…We Have Great Power…

Think About It…

Elijah was as human as we are..

Yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall…

None fell for three and a half years!

Then, when he prayed again…

The sky sent down rain..

And the earth began to yield its crops.

Do You Truly Believe???

Pray Today What God Would Reveal To Your Spirit…

To Leave You Forever Changed.

Some ten years ago when I did Tres Dias this was our verse….

And it has meant much to me since.

As we discussed it we came to learn that…

God wants us all to stand Ready…

For Satan is out There….

And When God Calls….

We Need to Answer…

Boldly..

So that when He Asks Us What We Have Done…

We can Tell Him

Habakkuk 2:1  I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint.

A silly little verse obscured in the Old Testament changed my life!!!

GACS – Thanksgiving Day  Volunteers needed to help with craft projects for children during Thanksgiving Day meal at Greater Atlanta Christian School

7 Bridges to Recovery-Thanksgiving Day  If you want to join us on Thanksgiving Day, we always meet at the Kmart on Cleveland Avenue and I-75 at 10:00AM. Everyone follows in their own vehicles/church vans and we move from location to location sharing the Good News of Christ with our brothers and sisters out on the streets. We usually finish about 4:30pm at the Garden where we have a closing and share with each other what God has shown us throughout the day. We have two different routes: The Bridges and the Bluff. The Bridges go under the various bridges of Atlanta and The Bluff is more into the streets. Each time, we prepare about 450-500 lunches for the streets and if you and your group would like to bring some lunches, please let us know and we will make the rest. RSVP is requested for groups of 10 or more or if you are planning on bringing any lunches. Duluth/Gwinnett/Lawrenceville CPA…Letting Your Love of Christ Shine

Duluth/Gwinnett/Lawrenceville CPA…Letting Your Love of Christ Shine

Are you a light of the Good News of Jesus Christ to Others? Managing my own successful CPA practice in Gwinnett County for over twenty years, I continued to feel God’s calling on my heart and his desire for me to be more about Him. I had always felt it was my mission to witness to those I came in contact with in both my business and social contacts, but God continued to lay it on my heart that He wanted much more. Though willing to share my Christian faith with people to whom I came in contact with, God was calling and he wanted me to be much more overt, but loving, to share the love of God. Having as part of our doctrine by practicing the Golden Rule in my CPA firm for years, God was calling to be the true center of my life and not just a major player. As we speak more boldly about our Faith more and more people are noticing…

That We Love Christ!

The Below is a sample letter we might receive off of our web site for those seeking More…More of Him….Join us as we Seek to be Obedient by…

Taking Christianity Into the World

I read your essay “I am tired of being a Mamby Pamby Christian.” I hope it is well received and heard.

As a fellow Christian, I have a personal request. My husband and I are in transition to the Atlanta area. He is finishing his degree in accounting. We have owned an S Corporation and he has extensive bookkeeping and payroll experience. He is looking for an accounting position in the Gwinnett county area. Any leads or connections would be greatly appreciated. I can forward his resume’ if that would be helpful.

Thank you and keep the faith. God is good.

Below is my response:

Thanks for visiting www.HisCPA.com I look forward and welcome you joining our small community of five million in Metropolitan Atlanta. The area that you are looking to move to is a good area of town. If you were to set up a bookkeeping service in Atlanta I would be able from time to time send referrals. For all of my business clients I recommend them to use a payroll service to keep both their fees and their administrative burdens as low as possible.

When you arrive might I suggest you take a look at some of the better churches in the U.S. that will be right around the corner such as Perimeter Church, 1St Baptist Church of Atlanta & Northpoint Community Church.

For jobs here in the area might I suggest you see if the Georgia Society of CPA’s still has a job bank and after you arrive here, there are numerous churches that have Faith Based Christian Networking.

I pray great things for you and your journey.
